Spring in our little corner of the world has been so bizarre.
We've had bushels of beautiful days, but only a handful of warm days. Needless to say, I'm yearning for some hot sun on my face and extremities.
This morning I decided that if my 5th grader can wear shorts all through the winter, I can wear shorts on a cool Spring morning, no matter the temp.
Here's the Outfit of the Day for Thursday:
My notes on these items:
The Lester Oxford Polo from Turtleson is fantastic. The fabric is an ultra-soft sustainable fiber made from eucalyptus of all things. Today is my first time wearing this shirt and I'm sold. It's a good one.
The white cotton sweater is a nod to coastal grandfathers everywhere. I picked it up at J. Crew Factory a few weeks ago with the intent of embracing the summer sweater look. It's comfy but a little thicker than I'd prefer, and the waistband just kinda hangs loose, which I don't think is incredibly flattering.
These J. Crew flex khaki shorts with a 9-inch inseam are my default shorts for the summer. I grab a few pairs every year. They're comfy and don't wrinkle excessively. I also picked up a pair of the 7-inch inseam version, which are great for weekends and what not.
I went with this navy woven belt, again from J. Crew, to add a little flair. The long end of the belt also helps hold the half-tuck of the sweater at my waist.
And I'm sporting these bit drivers from Cole Haan. I grabbed these a few weeks ago and I'm tickled with the way they look and feel. One quick sizing note if you're thinking about shopping Cole Haan online: I had to go down a full size from (10 to 9) to land on the right fit. Color me surprised.
