Do you ever just randomly remember something from your past that has been hiding in your memories for decades?
That's what happened to me a few weeks ago.
While I was sorting through a box of my old relics from my childhood home, I remembered the watch I used to wear in high school.
If I'm not mistaken, my parents got the watch for me as a Christmas gift one year, but I could be wrong.
It wasn't anything fancy...just a classic Swiss Army style watch from the Eddie Bauer store. (Back in the early 90s, Eddie Bauer was much more like a Gap or J. Crew than whatever it is today.)
That watch was a treasure. I wore it everywhere...school, playing basketball, church, you name it. As a busy, sweaty Florida teenager I wore through at least two bands, so it gave me my first experience tinkering with a watch to replace the band.
There's no telling when or why I stopped wearing it, but I never stopped loving that watch.
Finding this replacement on Etsy was the highlight of my month, so shoutout to Darrell for a painless purchase.
Now there's only one watch left on my quest to replace all the old watches I've loved and lost. It's a clean, minimalist Swatch called the Once Again:
